Resource Groups:
Navigating Academia as Women of Color

In my 16 years in the academy, I have served in a range of roles, from an untenured assistant professor to a tenured full professor and endowed chair; from an assistant director to an upper-level administrator; from an unpublished writer to a scholar in my field.

I am also a Black woman, and parent, who understands the unique racialized and gendered challenges that women of color (WOC) experience within U.S. higher educational institutions, challenges that have been further amplified since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this confidential space, the resource groups will help WOC faculty come together in community with one another, to offer support, advice, and empowerment in hopes that she/they can thrive, both personally and professionally, in a way that aligns with her/their values and goals.
