Services

In collaboration with Jersey Cosantino, Ford Consulting: Facilitating Change also offers a range of services focused on neurodivergence and neuroexpansiveness.

 

Grounded in neuroaffirming, lived experience, and disability justice frameworks, we offer assessments, curricula design, resource groups, and workshops focused on how institutions can attract, support, and retain neurodivergent and neuroexpansive employees, and communicate and engage with neurodivergent and neuroexpansive populations.

Assessments may include:

  • Accessibility audit of communication policies and practices 

  • Review of accommodations processes for those with and without formal diagnoses

  • Evaluation of sensory environments, including physical and virtual institutional spaces

  • Climate assessment for neurodivergent and neuroexpansive individuals across all identity intersections

  • Analysis of neurodivergent and neuroexpansive recruitment, hiring, onboarding, retention, support, and promotion policies and practices.

Dialogic Pedagogy & Curricula Design

Drawing on extensive experience developing dialogically-rooted neurodiversity curricula and pedagogical practices in academic and community contexts, we work with clients to embed neuro-affirming practices into educational programs, workplace trainings, and organizational learning initiatives.

Neurodiversity Coalition Building 

A co-facilitated, collaborative space that centers neurodivergent and neuroexpansive wisdom, explores neuro-affirming frameworks, and fosters cross neurotype understanding, coalition building, and cultural and systemic change. While this resource group is intended for all, opportunities for moving into identity based affinity spaces will be included.

All offerings can be customized to meet specific institutional and organizational needs.

Workshops, described on the next page, can range from 2-hour introductions to multi-day intensive trainings. Please be aware that shorter sessions are intended to be introductory and will cover less content than multi-day intensives.

introductory workshop

This interactive workshop introduces neuro-affirming frameworks and strategies for supporting neurodivergent and neuroexpansive communities.

advanced workshop

Building on the introductory workshop, this workshop helps participants utilize dialogic frameworks to examine systems and structures that perpetuate neuronormativity.

training to facilitate

This interactive 15-hour workshop is designed for participants who have completed Workshops 1 & 2 or have equivalent experience with IGD pedagogies. In this workshop, participants will learn the tools necessary to effectively facilitate dialogues about neurodiversity using disability justice and intergroup dialogue principles.
